Everything you need to know
What is Vote the Verse?
Vote the Verse is a weekly rap battle platform. Every week a new beat drops — you download it, record your verse over it, and submit it. The community votes for the best verse. Highest votes at the end of the cycle wins.
How do cycles work?
Each cycle is 7 days. A new beat goes live at the start of every cycle. When the cycle ends, voting locks and the top-voted submission is declared the winner. The next scheduled beat automatically drops and the competition starts over.
How do I submit?
Create an account, set your stage name in your profile, then download the beat and record your verse over it. Come back to the homepage and upload your MP3. You get one submission per cycle — make it count.
Submission rules
MP3 format only. Max 5MB. Your verse cannot be longer than the beat itself. You must have a stage name set before you can submit. One submission per cycle — you cannot change or replace it after uploading.
How does voting work?
Every registered user gets exactly one vote per cycle. You cannot vote for yourself. You cannot change your vote once it's cast. Votes lock when the cycle ends.
What happens if there's a tie?
If two or more artists finish with the same vote count, they are all declared co-winners. Each co-winner receives a full win on the All Time Wins leaderboard.
Why do I need a stage name?
Your stage name is how you appear on all submissions, the leaderboard, and the archive. It's required before you can submit. You can update it anytime from your profile — it will automatically update across all your past submissions.
Can I share my submission?
Yes. Each submission has a share button that copies a direct link to your entry. Share it anywhere to drive votes from outside the platform.
Where can I see past cycles?
The Archive tab shows every past cycle with its full tracklist and results. The Leaderboard shows rankings for the current cycle, all-time votes, and all-time wins.
